I've not really considered developing CPD, so why I should I start now?
It may be a natural reaction to look upon the development of your CPD with some degree of uncertainty. Frontier gives you the chance to think again.
You have a breadth of clinical experience to build on. This project offers you a path to develop your educational potential, allowing you to move ahead in your career and possibly consider applying for a consultant post.
My job is very busy, so how will I have the time for CPD?
Trusts are aware that CPD does not just improve clinical performance and good medical practice, but can lead to greater job satisfaction in the longer term. This can only improve the quality of patient care.
How do I find out what's going on?
The Frontier website updates you on the current courses and opportunities available, from Deanery organised courses to sponsorship for your individual endeavours, such as Masters courses and secondments. We also send out information to our database of over 1500 SASG Doctors. If you haven't received any updates, you may not be on it. To add your details to the database email us at frontier@londondeanery.ac.uk and provide your specialty, subspecialty and trust.
Where can I find the forms?
Sponsorship application forms are available at Forms and Policies. Please make sure you use the correct form - using the wrong form may mean we need to return your application and this would delay a decision about your funding.
Is there anything that Frontier Sponsorship can't fund?
Yes, we cannot fund exam fees or professional memberships. We also, as a general rule, do not fund courses, conferences and secondments which take place outside the UK.
What is the closing date for applications for Sponsorship funding?
The closing date each financial year is the last working day in February. This year that day is 29 February 2012.
