Plans for 2012-13
- This year, Frontier's main focus will be to ensure that all SASG and other middle grade doctors are ready for Revalidation.
Part of this strategy will include raising awareness regarding CPD support not just amongst SASG doctors, but also amongst their employers and other stakeholders. We will work with the Royal Colleges to facilitate specialty specific resources.
- Frontier will continue to raise awareness of the need for CPD support for SASG and other middle grade doctors amongst stakeholders in the NHS. We will encourage dialogue between stakeholders and SASG doctors to discuss how the potential of these doctors can be tapped for the benefit of the NHS and ultimately, patients.
- Building on the connections made at the local study days held at Trusts across London in 2012-13, we’ll be working with our SASG CPD Leads to identify local needs and help them to deliver the resources needed on the ground.
- We will continue to reach out to the ‘other’ middle grade doctors who do not fall under the SASG umbrella, offering them sponsorship and access to Frontier resources.
- We will run a programme of free courses which meet a range of SASG learning needs, including reflective practice, leadership skills, and appraisal awareness.
- We will continue to encourage SASG doctors to identify and act upon their own educational needs through the Frontier sponsorship programme.
